Please note
These Terms & Conditions set out the inclusions, exclusions, additional fees, payment terms, cancellation policies, and child guidelines applicable to all reservations at Madikwe Safari Lodge. Any extras will be charged to the guest’s account.
Inclusions
- Luxury accommodation in a suite with private plunge pool
- All meals, teas, and coffees
- In-room mini bar
- Inclusive drinks and selected snacks (all soft drinks and a selection of beers, spirits, and house wines)
- Two game drives daily with a FGASA-accredited field guide
- Game drive refreshments and snacks
- Eastern Madikwe Airstrip transfers
- Specified inclusive safari activities
- Wi-Fi in public areas
Activities Include
- Game drives
- Bush walks
- Stargazing
- Wildlife lectures
- Bush breakfasts, picnic lunches, and bush dinners
- Kids’ Adventure Safari Club experiences at the Eco House
Exclusions
- Laundry
- Premium brand beers, spirits, cellar wines, and champagnes
- Cigars and cigarettes
- Flights and transfers not specified above
- Gratuities
- Telephone calls
- Gallery purchases
- Spa treatments
- Madikwe Game Reserve entrance fee, guest conservation contribution, and landing fees (if arriving by air)
Any extras will be charged to the guest’s account.

- Private open safari vehicle hire
- Additional external services
- Exclusive bush breakfasts and dinners
- Babysitting services
Additional Fees
- MGR Entrance Fee:
- Children (0–8 years): R80 per child
- Adults: R180 per adult
- Guest Conservation Levy:
- Children (under 12): R240 per child per day
- Adults: R475 per adult per day
- Landing Fee:
- Adults: R240 per adult
- Children (0–8 years): R150 per child
- Babysitting: R300 per hour per room (up to 2 children)
Entrance fees and levies are subject to change without prior notice, as they are set by third parties beyond our control.
Payment & Cancellation
Standard Bookings
- 20% deposit required to confirm reservation
- Balance payable 45 days before arrival
Cancellations
- 46–61 days prior: 10% cancellation fee or free postponement
- 31–45 days prior: 50% cancellation fee or 30% postponement fee
- 14–30 days prior: 75% cancellation fee or 50% postponement fee
- 13 days or less: 100% cancellation fee
Group Bookings (6 or more rooms)
- 20% deposit required to confirm reservation
- Additional 30% deposit due 60 days prior to arrival
- Balance payable 45 days before arrival
Cancellations
- 46–59 days prior: 50% cancellation fee or 30% postponement fee
- 0–45 days prior: 100% cancellation fee
Peak Season (20 Dec – 09 Jan)
- 50% deposit required on confirmation
- Balance due 120 days prior to arrival
Cancellations
- 121 days prior: 50% cancellation fee
- 120 days or less: 100% cancellation fee
Child Policy
Lelapa Lodge
- Children of all ages are welcome
- Children under 6 are not permitted on game drives or safari activities (a family game drive is offered after breakfast)
- Private vehicle: R9,500 per day (on request, subject to availability; no age restrictions apply)
- Children under 16 not permitted on bush walks
- Children 0–5: stay free of charge
- Children 6–15: 50% of adult sharing rate
- Children 16+: full adult rate (or full single supplement if in own room)
- If two children under 16 share a room: one charged full adult rate, the second charged according to age
- If one adult shares with a child: adult pays single supplement, child charged according to age
- Maximum 4 people per family room (plus 1 infant under 2 years in a cot). Suites limited to 2 people.
Kopano & Dithaba Lodges
- No children under 16 years
- Children 16+ accommodated at adult sharing rate or single supplement
- Children only accepted if lodge is booked exclusively (then Lelapa policy applies)
Elela Villa
- No children under 10 years (special requests considered at time of booking)
- Children under 16 not permitted in Kopano main lodge area unless booked exclusively with Elela Villa
- Private vehicle included in Villa rates
- Villa accommodates a maximum of 6 guests (minimum 1 guest)
